Book Cover Redesign Pt 2.

I chose to recreate one of my favorite books and tv show, Thirteen Reasons Why. This book resembles high school drama with a dark twist. Hannah Baker commits suicide and leaves a box of cassette tapes for her "friends" to pick up the pieces of why. The book touches on dramatic topics and real-life issues. For my book redesign, I chose to keep the background dark to portray the darkness of the book. I then chose to add a cassette player with cassette tapes falling out of it. The cassettes are labelled the way Hannah labelled them in the book. The cassette player and cassettes have blood splatter and drop on them. This ultimately reflects the gruesome way Hannah committed suicide if you have read the book or watched the show. The blood is a metaphor that each person who listens to the tapes has Hannahs blood on their hands. I chose a font that I think is simple enough for a book like this, and because there is already a lot to look at on the cover. I used Gestalt's law of proximity on the cover by grouping the cassette tapes together.
