#1. Banning Abortion 

Famous Burger King Sign

Abortion has always been a controversial topic for many people around the world. Recently there have been laws made in some states that have made abortion illegal. This is taking away the rights of women and their own choices. I wanted to showcase my take on the burger king sign with their famous slogan “You have it your way”. I began by changing Burger King, to My Choice as its the first thing you would see. Next, I kept the buns, as a metaphor for “bun in the oven”, representing a baby in a stomach. Next, I chose to change the drive-thru sign, making it pink and the shape of the female gender symbol, represent women’s rights. Lastly, for the slogan, I chose to put, “I WILL HAVE MY PREGNANCY MY WAY”.

#2. Equal Pay Rights

Lady Justice Painting - Johnny Olivera

I Chose this painting because lady justice is an irony to the equal pay rights of women and men. Women are being paid 77% less than what men make in the workplace. Although they are doing the same jobs, they are being paid significantly less. For this painting, Lady justice represents all women. I have lifted her blindfold above her eyes, letting her being able to see what she is doing. I then added the two gender symbols on either side of the scale, which have the same amount of money on both scales. I changed the position of her sword so she is actually scraping off money on the male side, that is falling on the floor. This represents equal pay for both men and women, making the scale balanced.

#3. Climate Change

Snowy Mountain Painting - Ashwini Biradar

Climate change is a long term change in weather patterns that define the Earth’s local, regional and global climates. As the sun gets hotter, It causes ice and snow to melt in colder climate areas. Because of this, rising sea levels increase, as well as ocean temperatures. For this painting, I chose to add a sun that has actual flames coming down as the suns rays. All of the snow from the mountains and the trees are melting off into the ocean. This is causing the ocean to rise, creating waves that are hitting up against the house.
